Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy helps people process and heal from traumatic memories. During a session, the therapist guides a client to briefly focus on the trauma while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation, usually through eye movements, taps, or sounds.
This process helps the brain reprocess the trauma, reducing its emotional impact and allowing the client to integrate the memory in a healthier way, leading to symptom relief.
EMDR therapy can be done in person or virtually.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps people identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. It’s practical, goal-oriented, and focuses on developing healthier ways of thinking and coping with challenges like anxiety and depression.

The interventionist also coaches the family on setting healthy boundaries and offers support, emphasizing the impact of addiction on everyone involved.
